Title: a few pre flashing questions

can I go back to a german sharp rom for the 5500 if I want? where do I get that?
what is the smallest cf card I can use for flashing?
does open zaurus support german keymap?
is the handwriting recognition worse/equal/better to the standard one?

You can go Back to German rom, if you want. It should be a file on your cd. Additionally you can download it from here:

Just put the ospack file in a Fat 16 CF and flash.
For OZ 16 MB should be enough. I flashed mine with an old 16 MB Kodak Card once.
For Sharprom I guess you will need 32 MB. But I am not sure about that, because I dont deal with Sharprom anymore.
Openzaurus supports German Keymap. Depending on the OZ Version it is more or less tricky:

You can also have opie speaking German.
The handwriting is ok. I never Compared it with the Sharpthing, cause Sharprom is always the first thing I remove from the Z.
