Title: HELP!!! 5500 USB Cradle connection to WinXP
Post by: ZenCook on June 25, 2004, 09:13:30 am
I am using a SL5500 with the TkcROM.  I have a new WinXP Pro Laptop and I have not been able to connect via the USB cradle.  I am using Intellisync 3.2E & File Transfer 1.1E.

When using File Transfer (my main use of the USB connection, as I do not need the Sync), I get the message....

"An error occurred during data communication.  Please remove the Zaurus from the Docking Station or Serial Cable and reconnect.  Please verify that the PC Link application settings on the Zaurus match the Zaurus Manager settings on the PC"

The setting do match !!! But I cannot edit the Zaurus Manager setting if I wanted to because the options are greyed out.  And when I try to change the connection from "USB - I/O" to "USB - TCP/IP", I get the message "Ensure the Zaurus and docking station are connected to your PC".

I have checked the XP Network settings.... I have a "Local Area Connection" for the Zaurus with packets SENT but none RECEIVED.  I have tried to "How-To" tips of trying both my laptop USB ports, re-booting XP & the Zaurus, disabling and enabling the "Local Area Connection" for the Zaurus.

Where do I go from here ?

Is there any help out there ???   Or at least a pointer to where I might find it ???  I have trawled through the Forum Search and still no clear answer.

Thanks in anticipation
