While we are fortunate to have a SAMBA server for the Z pre-built, can anyone recommend (or point in the direction of) a SMB client for the Z? The usual "smbclient" in a terminal can't find anything such executable. Or am I completely overlooking something that does this in the GUI?

http://www.dasgehtdichnichtsan.de/zaurus/smbmount.html (http://www.dasgehtdichnichtsan.de/zaurus/smbmount.html)
This web page also has a download for libncurses_5.0_arm.ipk which is necessary for the less pager program and other programs.

You can get smbclient from ipkg.handhelds.org, make sure you go for an old version - then it won't want libc2.3 and it will be in tar.gz format.
Alternatively you can get it in the OZ feed (certainly the 3.3.6pre1 feed has it, 3.2 might too). But then you'll need to use ar.

Hi -
Thx for the reply. Yes I got smbmount working. It's good enough to mount SMB drives, but doesn't have any of the sniffer functionality like "findsmb" nor "smbclient". Oh well.
Now it would be cool to get smbmount to work thru the file GUI as well, and not have to do symbolic links every time...
Thx again,
C.

Got it, rreread! Actually you posted that before I hit the submit button, so we were out of synch. Anyways, thanks for the pointer!
