Hi -
I have an app after which when I remove the IPK via either the GUI or command line, the icon still lives in QT. Does anyone know how to remove icons which are without any associated app?
-
Well, I found the best way to remove was just to nuke everything in the /home/root/usr/lib/ipkg/info/whateverapp.list file followed by a init 6. Seems to have cleared things up...

What Rom are you using?
Use the Tab manager and delete the icon there.
Or use a filemanager and delete /usr/QtPalmtop/apps/tabname/programname.desktop
either way should work ... what app is it?

One way that can happen is if you've moved the icon to a tab other than the one it was originally installed to. ipkg doesn't support moving icons and it can't find the icon in its new location while uninstalling the app.
Use Tab Manager to remove it.
Note: if you delete it manually from the shell or using file manager, as jdralphs suggested, Qtopia will still show the icon until you reboot (or restart Qtopia).
