Title: kismet + linksys wcf12
Post by: tobywong on July 08, 2004, 01:09:55 am
Hello, I just got my 860, and I'm trying to configure kismet, what should I put in the source= line?
I've tried alot of options now, and I get 'Failed to set private ioctl 'monitor': Bad address'
sounds like the driver don't support rfmon??
I also get this error: 'channel"get ioctl failed 16:Device or resource busy'

Kernel modules that are loaded are the orinoco and orinoco_cs modules, but those are patched right?
I can't find any prism2 modules on pdaxrom.

Or do I have to play more with cardctl or iwconfig?

If anyone got any hints I'd appreciate it.

I can't surf the howto's on this site right now, just gives me garbled pages.

update: source=orinoco_14,eth0,orinocosource seems to be working, yay

Good to see that you got it going in the end.  I too have a Linksys WCF12 and my source line is just:

Code: [Select]
source=orinoco,eth0,orinocosource

Can you give me a hand with this?  I also have the wcf12 card but I haven't got it to work.  It does nothing.

Now, I'm a relative newbie so I don't even know where to start.  I've just installed pdaxrom 1.0.5, plugged the wifi card in and then set it up in the networking app in settings.  What else do I need to do?

For instance - where does this line "source=orinoco_14,eth0,orinocosource" even go?  Do I need to create a /etc/pcmcia/wlan-ng.conf file with my stuff in it?  sorry to ask, but a step-by-step would really be appreciated.

THanks
