Help!!
I've had my 5600 syncing for about 4 months on a Win2K PC through USB-TCP/IP connection with no problems. now, all of a sudden, sync has failed completely.
The first time I try to sync after connecting the Zaurus, I get the following error message shortly after sync starts:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Program Error:
IS4SL.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows.
You will need to restart the program.
An error log is being created
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The only log file I can find is called PtTrace.log and it contains the following text:
-----------------------
Thu Jul 15 14:08:20 2004 -- Pumatech Intellisync Log File --
14:08:20.962: Begin ILX Session, Source=Microsoft Outlook, Target=Zaurus
14:08:21.382:
14:08:21.392: Starting Standard Sync
14:08:21.452: Phase=10, User=ILDATA: Reading data from Zaurus Calendar
-----------------------
If I try to sync again, then communication fails completely.
I've tried to uninstall/reinstall intellisync. no success. I've tried the standard USB interface, no success.
Has any one else seen this?

The PtTrace.log is the error log file, but it is meaningless to us mere mortals (I suppose someone at Sharp had the key at one time).
I had the same problem once. It was caused by corrupted data. Fortunately, I had both backups of my Zaurus & Outlook files. I restored both from backup (making note of the recent changes to each), then was able to resync.
You may be able to find & remove the bad data by hand, if you know what records were recently changed.
Also, if you have backups, try using the sync preferences to force Outlook to overwrite Zaurus or vice-versa and see if you are able to resume syncing normally.

Actually, I think you might not have to do that (hand check data). I tore my hair out for quite some time trying to figure this one out for quite some time.
Odds are you are running KOPI (if you aren't, ignore the rest of this message and my apologies for wasting your time!)... If you are running KOPI, do a Sync-to-DTM, then try syncing again.
This has happened both to me and my colleague (who also has a C760), and both times it had to do with a screwed up DTM sync from KOPI.
Hope that does it for you,

I have a similar problem, after installing KO/Pi, resyncing did not resolve the problem.
Any other suggestions?

Finally managed to fix the problem.
Rename all the files starting with SLDATE in the home\zaurus\Applications\DTM directory, I just added a z to the start. You will need to download a file explorer such as Tree!Explorer to do this.
Reload Sharp Calendar application, this will create BLANK calendar files.
Make sure to manually transfer any entries from Calendar to Outlook before you do this otherwise they will be lost, you may also want to expand the date range in Sync Options.
Remove PO/Ki & wait for a copy that does not screw up the sync facility, & don't forget to take a backup copy of the above files before testing any future versions of KO/Pi.

Yzord, yes I am running KO/Pi. how did you know? I tried a resync, but the problem remained. So, I tried Mikes suggestion of renaming the files.
Mike,
thanks! I renamed the SLDATE files as suggested then restarted calender. I then resynced with my desktop and all seemed to go well. I decided to be brave and resync with KO/Pi, which went surprisingly well. It seemed to accept the calender entries as updates. One or two entries were turned in to recurring entries, but were an easy fix. So far thats all I've noticed. Hopefully, thats all there is to find!
I'm going to keep using KO/Pi, its too good to give up! but i will mention it to zautrix about the corruption and hope he can fix it.
Once again, thanks everyone for helping to sort this out. I am extremely grateful to you all.
Cheers!

Which version of KO/Pi are you using?
Suggest you take a backup copy of the DTM files before each sync, just in case it goes wrong again.
Ko/Pi is a supperb program.

Mike,
I'm currently using 1.7.7 which i think is the latest stable release.
Is it just the SLDATE files I need to copy, or should I just copy the whole DTM folder?
Thanks
