Hey Guys, I saw this article on OSNews

OSNews Article (http://www.osnews.com/story.php?news_id=7783)

and in the article is the following line with I thought, hmmm:

Quote
While at LinuxWorld, Joseph Cheek showed me his Sharp Zaurus SL-5500. Installed on it was a pre-Alpha of Desktop/LX Pocket PC Edition.

Any one know anything about this? Screenshots?

A quick thought to google and I found some:

Not as exciting as I thought, just looks like a customised version of Opie

While I would be excited by a nice customized version of Opie (), I heard that the Lycoris Team freezed their activities when they found out that they couldn't just take an OpenZaurus release and change some pixmaps.
I told them how to contribute best to the project -- not by changing some pixmaps and add some wallpapers but by helping us to finish the migration to OpenEmbedded and actually fix some bugs in the code, but apparantly that was not what they were willing to do.

It's all a bummer, I was expecting something a bit more fake Pocket PC and a little bit more useable than the standard Roms, which is what I thought lycoris was good at.

I have hi hopes for OpenEmbedded. I liked the alpha or beta I played with, though the on screen mouse cursor started to annoy me, lol.
