Very cool. Those guys probably have no idea what they are selling - they have small battery for the same price

The only drawback I can see is it looks like it doesn't come with the battery cover, which you would need to get it to work on a C7x0 (as far as I know).

Yes, it only works as an additional battery for 5600, 760, 860 devices.

You would have to file down the plastic nub and then tape or make a cover.
It would not be pretty (although I am sure there are sites online that show clean ways of doing this for the 5500 and C700), but the upside is double the battery life.

No internatinal orders

One thing to consider is that these may be compatible batteries and not sharp branded batteries. I should get my order tommorrow and will post an update.
(Not that it matters to me, but some of you might care).
UPDATE: Yes, they are no-name batteries with the same specs and look the same.

any problems with this battery so far?

None....A smidgeon bigger meaning you need to angle it a bit more to get it in but that's it. (we are talking a fraction of a mm bigger on the edge with the nub).
Once you get used to angle-ing it in, it is a piece of cake...charge is excellent so far.
Recommend.

I also bought one of these batteries. I have used it now a few times and it is my impression that it does not last as long as the original battery from Sharp.

I am surprised to hear that. I find mine is totally unoticible rorm the Sharp. As a matter of fact, I ussually have no idea which one is in it.
But I can't dispute your assertion as I have not tried a side by side test.
How much of a difference are you seeing? I would think anythin significant would be obvious to me as well.

Since the store does not sell internationally, I thought it might be worthwhile to mention that these are being sold by a seller (with great feedback) on Ebay at a slight markup and they state that they ship internationally.
Ebay EBAY Seller of BL08 that ships internationally. (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=15029&item=5723835558&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW)

why not just get a battery extender its like having unlimited battery life

why not just get a battery extender its like having unlimited battery life
Oh, I have one of those too.....and a car adaptor and an extra AC adaptor.
But it's nice to have a backup battery as all lithium batteries have a limited life.
I may not NEED it until next year, but I will be glad I have it. Plus I find my exteender great for trips and such but when around town, I want compactness. Should I feel that I may need some extra power the large battery is still alot smaller than the extender.
My guess is that when we all NEED to replace our LI-ION, sharp (and the compatibles) will be off to another format. They didn't even keep the battery the same for the 6000L series.....I juswt think an extra battery is planning ahead. Plus it is a nice selling point should you ever decide to upgrade or (Lord forbid) switch to Palm or wince.
The prices right now are reasonable for the compatible battery, but besides the company and the ebay seller, everone else is asking $80+ for this thing...even Japan sites (from what I recall)...not too metion shipping from Japan.
