Title: OZ 3.3.5 won't boot on 5600
Post by: zenken on July 28, 2004, 04:19:56 pm
I tried to flash OZ 3.3.5 on my 5600, and now it won't boot.
It just sits there on the 'please wait 2 minutes' screen for
about 5 minutes, then turns off with green led blinking.

The flash was apparently OK, but there was an error
'modprobe: cannot locate module devinfo' right at
the start of the flash ... but then it said 'Success'

I had previously upgraded to Sharp ROM v1.32 and
SpecialKernel1.3 ...

If anyone from openzaurus.org is reading this, there might be
something wrong with the 3.3.5 zImage.bin for the 5600 (poodle).

Your web page

http://openzaurus.org/oz_website/content/d...file=zImage.bin (http://openzaurus.org/oz_website/content/do_download?model_id=4&release_id=8&mirror_id=1&machine=poodle&file=zImage.bin)

says that the md5sum for zImage should be
3317697ca135750a3838a03b60294c70
but the zImage that gets downloaded has a md5sum of
bc7a8f1f8e3c1745913eec2cd31bb321

I've downloaded and checked it twice now!

Because I couldn't get OZ335 working, I reflashed to SharpROMv1.32
just to check that my 5600 was OK. It was! Then I dowloaded
OZ336_pre1 from

http://openzaurus.org/official/experimenta...dle/3.3.6-pre1/ (http://openzaurus.org/official/experimental/poodle/3.3.6-pre1/)

and flashed that. It flashes and boots ok! I really like the way the
screen can be rotated, it's great. But there appears to be an issue
with console output appearing on the bottom line of the screen ...
anyone know how to solve that?

Also, is there an audio recording app for Opie?
