Title: Zaurus repairal
Post by: ThC on July 29, 2004, 09:35:46 am
So I definitly frown the charging circuit of my poor Z and now come to the big question :
I'm pretty sure repairal won't be covered by warranty as it's entirely my fault (accidentaly reversed polarity from my third party charger), so how much will sharp(brando) charge me for repairal ?
I'm actually thinking about buying an external charger and think I could wait with such a solution 'till I can buy a new Z if repairal cost is too expensive to be interesting (if half the price of a new unit it won't be interresting, better be using this one as a spare unit for testings and buy a new one)

just obtained a response from Brando, telling me Sharp will charge approx 30$ for the charging circuit repairal ..plus I'll have to pay for sending the unit to brando, they will cover fees for returning the unit to sharp Japan and then returning it back to me in France ... so that's quite a good new as I was expecting to pay a few hundreds $ and it seem it wont cost me more than 100$ ...

Do they do this only for C860s bought from Brando, or for any C860? Unfortunately my C860 also has a fried charging circuit
