Title: Voice recorder on 3.1c exits
Post by: laymusic on July 31, 2004, 10:19:58 am
One of the few things that worked out of the box when I got my Zaurus 5500 was the voice recorder.

Unfortunately, enough other things didn't work that I upgraded from whatever ROM that was to the
3.1c rom on the Sharp website.

This is much better in most ways -- both the cf card and the sd cards work, I can network both by USB and by wireless, etc.

However, when I run the voice recorder, every time I push the record button (or do the equivalent from the menu) the application just goes away.  i can't find any error messages.  I ran it from the terminal, and didn't get any messages that way eiither.   The only thing in /var/log/dmesg that I can imagine might be relevant is "RAMDISK: Couldn't find valid RAM disk image starting at 0."

Does anyone have any ideas about what to do about this?  I hate reflashing, but if there's a particularly good voice recorder application that works with a different ROM, i'll consider it.  Or a third party one that can be installed on this ROM.

Thanks,

Start it from the terminal, see what the error message is....?

I tried that; there isn't one.

Stange, presumably there are some messages (as Qtopia apps always seem to generate some error messages even though they work okay)?
