Does anyone have a compiled version of tun.o for kernel 2.4.18-rmk7-pxa3-embedix? I'm trying to get vpnc (cisco client) to work. Thanks so much.

Hi,
I have compiled the whole thing, vpnc, tun.o
I compiled it with gcc3.3.2 for Openzaurus 3.3.6-pre1
I dont know, If this match to your os, since you dont specify which rom on which device you are using.
Cheers,
Sam

I'm using SharpROM 3.10 right now. I just reinstalled from OZ 3.3.6pre1 because I couldn't get my Aerlink NPC card to work. If you don't mind sharing though I'd like a copy of what you've done. I much preferred OZ. Thank you..

Hi,
if you like to try please, you can find the files all here:
teletubbie.hentges.net
There is a vpn folder. The other packages I compiled also for the
OZ3.3.6-pre1
There is a nice oz 3.3.6-pre1 Image with opie 1.1.3 from a guy named coredump, who helped me with the webspace for my packages.
http://www.hentges.net/misc/openzaurus/oz3...opie1.1.3.shtml (http://www.hentges.net/misc/openzaurus/oz3.3.6-opie1.1.3.shtml)
Feel free to try it.
But since I cant help you with the Aerlink Card, there is a tun package made for kernel 2.4.18-rmk7-pxa3-embedix. This was compiled for a SL-C700, but maybe it works:
http://www.liebchen-online.de/kmodc7x0.tgz (http://www.liebchen-online.de/kmodc7x0.tgz)
I think the gcc should be same, as in the Sharproms. Maybe you try this first, before of thinking about reflashing.
Cheers,
Sam

Thanks. Where did you get libgcrypt and libgpg-error? I can't find those files anywhere. I wish there was a pre-packaged ipk for this.

Hi,
I compiled them for myself and the other openzaurus 3.3.6-pre1 users. I used openembedded. Please take a look at least at the openembedded metadata, where you can find the sources:
http://openembedded.bkbits.net:8080/packag....|src/libgcrypt (http://openembedded.bkbits.net:8080/packages/anno/libgcrypt/libgcrypt_1.2.0.oe@1.1?nav=index.html|src/.|src/libgcrypt)
http://openembedded.bkbits.net:8080/packag...rc/libgpg-error (http://openembedded.bkbits.net:8080/packages/anno/libgpg-error/libgpg-error_0.7.oe@1.9?nav=index.html|src/.|src/libgpg-error)
For your purpose this site may be interessting, if you dont know it:
http://www.liebchen-online.de/vpn-zaurus-cisco_en.html (http://www.liebchen-online.de/vpn-zaurus-cisco_en.html)
I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Sam
PS: If you are a developer, maybe you take a whole look at openembedded. It is very flexible, so you can use it also with older toolchains, for example the gcc2.95 based one. You could also try to compile the Aerlink NPC related things using the buildsystem, if the sources are available.

Teletubbie, thanks for all your help. I compiled the files on my Z and got vpnc working today. I kept getting an error stating the group password was incorrect even though I know it isn't. Helps that I manage the VPN Concentrator and created a group just for my testing. Ended up removing the line 'IPSec secret' from my vpnc.conf file and it works now, but I have to enter the password manually. Did you come across this problem?
-
Hi,
we need that vpnc thing for having access at universities in German. There is a programm called notebook university and all of the universities included use same technologie, the cisco vpn. I was asked by a guy at the german forum, if I could compile the tun. I did and as I am a network novice, I asked him for a howto to use that at university. He did and the deal was complete. So I did the things in the howto and had no problems.
But I knew the group password.
Cheers,
Sam

Thanks Sam. I'll keep playing with it and try to figure out the problem. For now it works manually which is better than not at all.
