Title: SDL voodoo and incantations to make emulators nice??
Post by: zaphod on December 12, 2003, 12:40:59 pm
I have  the cacko ROM 1.18 on my new C750 and now dgen, snes9x, and zgnuboy don't crash all the time.  The only problem is that the emulated screen is about the size of a postage stamp. I'm using the C700 "fixed" SDL available, along with most of the emulators, at:

http://www.suhami.net/zaurus/

i got snes9x to run fullscreen w/o sound at decent speed, but what can I do to get the others working well?  What is QVGA, and what about all those QT_SDLwhatsit_whatever env variables?

I've already tried running snes9x,gnuboy emus on the X11 ROM and they're a bit slow.  Since there is no way to comfortably read ebooks, word-process, or move files around, I've flashed back to cacko 1.18. btw, Has anyone else had X11 ROM's window manager randomly die? I was dragging an icon onto the bar and suddenly the wm died. Can't reproduce it though...
