I just installed this ROM does it not come with any apps? I have nothing but the rom installed. There are no web browsers or anything. Do I need to download all the packages?

Which Zaurus do you have? Which Cacko ROM did you download?

Mike.

This ROM is to turn your Zaurus into an X11 workstation based system.

If you want the more traditional PIM type use of a Zaurus then you want Cacko 1.21 (+hotfix b ).

The original links that pointed to the Cacko ROM now take you to the PDAXROM server so if you want the Cacko ROM then you should be downloading from the Zaurus User group ROM links page (see the download section).

Undoubtedly PDAXROM is cool, if that's what you want but if you want PDA features then you probably want the more traditional Cacko ROM.

You can view PDAXROM and the Cacko ROM as parallel developments aimed at different targets of user communities (I'm pretty sure the Cacko Qtopia ROM is still under development - certainly there's still a lot of interest in running it !).

+ The traditional Cacko ROM will be more like you expected from seeing the Sharp ROM, you will get a good set of base applications and some enhanced drivers support.
