Hi there
I use (for now, until I can grab pdaxrom 1.1, hehe as many others also, I think) cacko rom 1.21 ...
I assumed that I could use the C860 as an USB disk drive, when connecting it into any PC.
Well ... I Do so, but I just keep getting the "NEW HARDWARE FOUND: SL-C860" ... instead of having a mounted usb drive in my desktop system...
I am trying this under Windows XP and Windows 2003.
In PC LINK, I have selected "STORAGE" and my CF as the card to use ...
I truly thought that the usb disk feature was painless / Driverless, like any memory USB pen ... I got it all wrong ?
Regards,
Enrique.

Hi,
I'm not able to mount my sl-c860 in Linux. I'm new the the Zaurus community, and thus haven't had a lot of time to explore this problem, but I did think it was a capability of the sl-c860. Am I wrong?
Thanks,
TaYpworm

Under Linux it's normally mounted as /dev/sda (no numbers).
Check on the Z using lsmod that the storage_fd kernel module is loaded correctly.
Note that if the storage card which it wants to use can't be umounted cleanly then it wont work, so check it by umounting it yourself, etc.
It does work (in fact it works on all of the Zs, 5500s included, - check out the threads about it in the General Chat section, I and others did a fair bit of work trying and eventually succeeding in getting it to work).

sigmaX - there is a small problem with the scripts for usb storage. It is as simple as it sounds. I suggest that in pc link, set it for tcp/ip (with the cable unplugged). Then go back into the setting and select storage. Search around there is a thread discussing this in complete detail with a fix. good luck.

You can make your Zaurus appear as a normal Windows disk drive, just follow this link, it should work for any version of Windows, I have it working on Windows 98 & 2000.
