Title: Access Infrared port with Java
Post by: cdriver on August 19, 2004, 07:17:23 am
Hi,

I'm trying to read data from the infrared port on my SL5600 using Java (running personal profile on the J9 JVM).

Has anyone any experience with this? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Cormac

Well it's actually supposed to work just like reading from a serial port only the device is /dev/ircomm if I'm not mistaken. You'd probably have to make sure to set the Z to Automatic mode for Beam Receiving or just make sure you hit start on the Beam Receive app, can't remember if that's the right name for it though, don't have my Z in front of me    i know.. i know...
