Title: Opera's ini files (OZ 3.2 + Opera 7.3

I had Opera 7.3 working on OZ 3.2 (upgraded Opera from 6.x I believe) on SL-5500. But then I got a wireless CF card and wanted to try mail with IMAP so I reflashed to OZ 3.3.5--I could not get Opera 7.3 to run on that, so I went back to the 3.2 rom. I could fix the missing buttons with the symlink trick, but now it's looking for a bunch of files like ini/standard_mouse.ini etc. I did symlink the directory but the standard_mouse.ini in particular is missing; tried touching it and it still crashes.

BTW this is the 40-24 rom, and I'm installing to ram. Using the Opera 7.3 ipk from this site. Help! The media=handheld in 7.3 is too cool to be without!

hiya,

wierdly, what i did to fix this was install opera6 from the openzaurus feed, then make sure that worked, then install opera7.

bredroll: can you remember how ypu made sure you got opera 6 to work?  Or did it work straightaway?

I finally got it working. My mistake was trying to use the Opera 6 ipk from this site. I googled and hunted for Opera on an OZ feed but couldn't find it; I finally found it somewhere (don't have the url here) and it installed no prob on OZ 3.2. Then the upgrade to 7.3 worked without a hitch.

hi folks.  i'm new to the zaurus world and i have recently installed open zaurus.  i got opera 7 from this site, but am having the aforementioned ini file problems.  i can't find any other opera packages on google and was wondering if anyone has it.  i'm tearing my hair out trying to get this working.  if anyone has any other ideas, please let me know, i just need a web browser.  thanks...

I believe you have to remove the symlink /usr/share/opera and remake it as:
ln -s /opt/QtPalmtop/opera /usr/share/opera

i am trying to install a opera 6.0 on my zaurus too, anyone can help me out here?

i installed the packages, did a ipkg-link add opera, and it appears on my GUI after i restarted opie

then in the console i type
nano /opt/Qtopia/apps/Applications/opera.desktop

and then change the command arguement from
EXEc=opera
to EXEC=runcompat opera
and then i save and exit

once i get back to the GUI, i click on the opera icon and it loads for a while and nothing happened. can anyone tell me how to finish the installation ??

any advice will be greatly appreciate!
