Title: flash new kernel only
Post by: bredroll on August 25, 2004, 07:50:45 pm
If I flash my 5500 with just the zImage on the CF card with a kernel with a different ramdisk size to the one i currently have installed, what will happen?

i have noticed the contents of /dev/ram only vanish after resets, not reboots.

Well, the results of my experiment are...

when you go from a kernel with a ramdisk to one with none, nothing goes wrong :-)

Does that mean it worked ok, and you were able to change the size of your ramdisk? Or does nothing happen at all?

Hi,

It worked fine and now I am running 64mb - 0mb ramdisk, where before I was running 32-32.
