Title: text to speech in opera??
Post by: zaphod on August 25, 2004, 11:23:52 pm
It says in the Voice preferences panel in opera that opera can read text.  But when I go to the test page opera:/voice/help.html, nothing happens--just a blank page. I have the latest cacko qtopia ROM on a C750.  Does this work?  I searched around these forums but most of the voice/speech related chatter seems to be about voice-recognition rather than text to speech.

I have also wondered about this option...  more so why is it there!

Because that Opera was ripped off a package downloadable from IBM, which contained Opers and some sample Voice over XML applications for 5600. I have no idea if that worked or not, because I've never tried it.
