Hello,
ok. I have my Sharp Zaurus C-750 now for 3 days and playing arround is now enough :-)
I deleted the original ROM and crash several times the cracko ROMs.
Now I want a stable PDA for my (I'm from germany) japanese studies.
I found some websites with fits my needs:
http://zaurus.biojapan.de/ (http://zaurus.biojapan.de/)
http://www.wbcd.org/zaurus/guide_teil0.html (http://www.wbcd.org/zaurus/guide_teil0.html)
Has somebody any experience with the use of this programs? And the most important question:
Which ROM must I install for this?
Also I want to use the Zaurus for playing some Lucas Arts Adventures with scummvm and excult for the good old Ultima 7 series.
Can anyone give me some tips how to make it possible?
Thanks in advance,
Christian

When following the wbcd.org instructions, you need the original Sharp-ROM. You can only restore it with a NAND-backup (which could result in the device becoming unusable, but I haven't had any problems with this yet). Then following the instructions (which are a bit confusing sometimes, and one 'next page'-link is referring to the same page) you get the OS converted to (mostly) English. Installing the applications should work on any ROM, but they probably won't have japanese font/input, so they're pretty useless. (I tried to install japanese support on Cacko one time, but it didn't work perfectly (or as perfectly as in the Sharp ROM), so I gave that up.)
The biojapan site seems to be mostly about the older Zauruses without Linux, but the info about dictionaries seems to be interesting.
