Title: Getting Opie 1.0.3 onto an OZ 3.2 sl5500
Post by: infidel on August 30, 2004, 06:11:13 am
Hello, everyone. I accidentally wiped my Zaurus a couple of days ago, and figured I'd use that as an excuse to give OpenZaurus another try.

I noticed that OZ 3.2 installs Opie 0.9.3 as default. I've looked into downloading Opie 1.0.3, but the feed presents me with a bewildering array of packages. I'm guessing (perhaps incorrectly...) that, like 'big-box' Linux, things need to be installed in a certain order? If so, I have no idea what that might be.

Feel free to thwack me if I overlooked any clear documentation on the subject, but any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks very much in advance.

I've a feeling that all of the Opie releases 1+ are compiled with GCC3.x and linked against libc2.3. Now you may be able to get around this, but you may not.

I'd be tempted to go for the hentges ROM release which is 3.3.6pre1 + Opie 1.1.3

Look here: http://www.hentges.net/misc/openzaurus/oz3...opie1.1.3.shtml (http://www.hentges.net/misc/openzaurus/oz3.3.6-opie1.1.3.shtml)
