Title: zaurus sometimes disconnects from desktop
Post by: ulf1 on August 30, 2004, 03:29:04 pm
my Z5500 with OZ 3.3.1 tend to disconnect from time to time from my desktop computer which is a win2000 server (The Z stays in the cradle during this all the time).
The only thing I can do to solve this is to remove the Z from its cradle and reinsert it.

Sometimes I have the feeling the disconnection happens when I am loading a big application on the Z and the Z's CPU is busy for a while. But at other times the same application can be loaded without any interruption.

Has somebody made the same experience or knows how to fix that or to configure the system correctly to avoid this anoying behavior.

thanks,
Ulf

Hi Ulf,

I got the same problem under OZ 3.3.5, though I don't start any apps on my Z. It just sits in the cradle and after some hours, connection between Windows 2000 Pro and my Z gets lost. When this happens my Z turns on the lights.

Just like you experienced, after re-inserting my Z into the cradle connection is back.

I am using "Intellisync for SL" via USB.

There's a similar problem which I had related to hangs/freezes when resuming Z while it's in the cradle: https://www.oesf.org/forums/inde...p?showtopic=407 (https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=407)

As proposed by Mickeyl in the thread which I mentioned above I installed "usdb-common" which solved the freeze issue. But to get my Z back to talk to my W2k PC again, I still need to re-insert it into the cradle.
