Hello, I just flashed my zaurus today with the 3.3.5 rom and have to admit it is damn cool! Anyway, I wanted to use the sharpmedia player as I know it plays the mpg files from pocketmovies.net fine whereas when I try to use xmms with the mplayer plugin, it just hangs
Does anyone know how to get the libsl.so.1 library to get the sharp mediaplayer working? I believe jeode uses this too?
Thanks in advance

libsl cant help you because have links to libqte, which was added by sharp and never been in free version of qte.

No, that\'s not (quite) true. It may well be possible (though I never tried the mediaplayer. I had the new (3.10) PIM apps running a long while back. That said, it\'s not worth the effort. However if you really feel you need to try see here:

You will probably be able to get the 2.xx version of mediaplayer to work with little trouble.

Another option that I had was running opieplayer2(?) which does run, but whenever I go to play a mpg or mp3 it starts to play then quits back to the main mediaplayer screen. Any thoughts?
Thanks for all the replies...muchly appreciated!

I could never get opie-mediaplayer2 to work properly. Do you know what was wrong with xmms & mplayer (this is what I use, and generally speaking it has a better range of decoders than the Sharp one)? If you still have it installed then you could try running it from the command line and see what the exact problem is.
Do these movies play on the 2.xx Sharp ROM media player (as this is a doable install on OZ)?

Okay, here is the output from mplayer run on the console when trying to play this trailer from pocketmovies.net (returnoftheking_320x144.mpg). Now this had played fine under the 3.10 sharp mediaplayer. I havent tried the 2.xx sharp rom media player yet. Is there any download available for these sharp apps?
