Hi all..
I am using Opera 7.30 internet browser on my SL-5500 with Sharp Rom 3.13. It works at great speed with my wireless card.
I also have a CF digital phone card that I use to connect the Zaurus to the internet with my cell phone. Since I can't afford to purchase an internet account with my cell phone carrier, I have to connect at the standard data rate, which just uses my minutes just like a regular phone call would, but is very slow.
I know that Opera keeps web pages in a cache, but does not save them to ram, due to limited storage space.
Since I am using an SD card, and have a lot of empty space available on it, I would like to know if there is a way to save Opera's cache to the card, and be able to access it again on a later session, similar to what Microsoft Internet Explorer does with its temporary internet files (to increase browsing speed).
Thanks, Doug

I'm not seeing that option in Opera. NetFront does have cache settings. So, you might want to give NetFront a try. I was a big Opera fan until I started noticing all the features that the embedded Opera lacks compared to the regular desktop build.
Hope this helps.

AFAIK Opera on the Zaurus does not cache any files at all. If you want something along those lines, I recommend installing wwwoffle, which is a caching proxy and can be setup to store its cache anywhere. You can even stop it fetching stuff from sites such as advertising sites.

Greetings.
Where did you find Opera 7 for the 5500? I've been looking for it, but haven't found it. Did you have any trouble nistalling it?
Thanks.

Opera 7.30 is right here in the ZUG downloads.
I installed it to internal storage (it won't install to SD card).
That's it. Works like a charm.
