The system is a 5500 with a 256 meg SD card formated as ext2, OZ Hentges 3.3.3pre1, Opie 1.1.3, and OE kernel r5. Package loads to the SD card produce either a "no more space ..." error or a "failed to create symbolic link ... to ..." error. After one of these failed attempts the SD card has multiple errors and requires extensive e2fs repair or a reformat.
Is anyone else using this combination seen SD errors such as this?
What could cause an SD card to behave this way??
These errors are new; this card has worked well for several weeks. That said the Z has been intermittent. On this Z the light went dead for sevaral weeks. Then suddenly 2 days ago it came back on. That occured about the same amount of time these errors have been occuring. Is there a low lever BIOS interupt allocation mechanism?? These symptoms have the feel of a low level conflict of some kind.

You may have no more space on / to store symbolic links. Try uninstalling some packages (any will do with lots of links) and retry.

Thanks, but that is not it. This is fresh flash and there is plenty of space left on both root and /mnt/card
This card now behaves poorly. Sometimes or a resume the card is not recognized. Is there an SD card test?

You're doing an e2fsck... Say... what brand of card are you using?

Toshiba.
That said, I have 2 Z's and the 2nd Z works just fine. I have taken to installing the packages on the 2nd Z and then linking them on the bad one. This is not ideal; however it works.
I am noticing what I would call soft anomalies on the Z and later levels. That is suspicious of timing problems. I am not sure just what to do with that observation.

To anyone who gets way down in this thread, I reflashed with a late OSPACK and then with OZ. That seems to fix the majority if the symptoms. This thread should be suspended because there is no evidence that there are remaining issues.
