I have installed OZ 3.3.6-pre1 on my SL-5600 and have noticed a few odities. The major one I am worride about is that when I try to add things ot calandar or contacts and then exit these programs tell me that there is not enuf space to save the changes.
Is there a way to fix this problem? I would prefer to use OZ, but I need to do what I need to do.

Personally I suggest staying away from OZ on the 5600 for now.
It's buggy, unstable and generally not as good as the Sharp ROM based ones. I'm sure it *will* be good in the future, but it just doesn't cut it currently. Many programs run on both Sharp and OZ ROMs. I'd really suggest using a Sharp ROM, and just install Libopie 1.0.3 and any other Opie-based programs you need.
To the OZ team: Not to be rude in this post, but 3.3.5/3.3.6 just does not work well at all on the 5600... IPK installation causes problems, this PIM bug I didn't know about, but evidently it exists, and there are a few other issues... Can't remember them all right now.

I am starting to think that waiting for a while to use OpenZaurus is a wise idea. I like it more then the Sharp ROM, but things just are not working completly. I have seen some one on this post using OZ 3.5.1, don't remember who it was, do you know if this will be SL-5600 friendly?

Perhaps the root directory is simply full and therefore nothing can be saved to it. Seems to be a simpler explanation and simple's good until it's disproved.

It should work fine on the 5600, but as I don't have a 5600 I can't test it and tell you. Thankfully there are some people with a slightly more proactive attitude than Chaos who are actually helping in the development of OZ on the 5600; or perhaps I'm maligning him for no reason, he may well be actively tracking down and fixing the bugs and instabilities which he's found and about which he's commenting.

Hehe, no kidding. Actually I'm surprised that it works at all given the fact that it received zero testing because no OpenZaurus core developer had (nor has) a SL-5600.
There's a limit in what people can do when blindly trying to support unknown machines. And as long as it stays that way, it means no improved support until we receive patches.

It is hard to write an OS for hardware that there is no documenation for. I hope the OZ team does not think I am doging them, just trying to find a solution to a problem. I would like to run OZ on my SL-5600 when everything is ready. If there are problems because I did something wronge I would like to know how to fix the problem. I got my images from http://openzaurus.org/official/experimenta...dle/3.3.6-pre1/ (http://openzaurus.org/official/experimental/poodle/3.3.6-pre1/). And I did the "echo 1 > /proc/sys/kernel/printk" to stop the kernel print (I didn't think I'd ever have that memerized). Any help is apreated.

Not at all.
Run the following command to check whether you have any space left: 'df'
If not, then that's your answer (you'll have to un-install something - for suggestions just ask - some games for example), otherwise let us know and we'll go from there trying to diagnose the problem.

That's really the IPK bug I was talking about... I can't find the actual cause of it, but the ipkg status file seems to randomly get corrupted, or randomly removes the entries for IPKs from it...
Sorry, but I don't remember the exact file (/usr/lib/ipkg/status maybe?), but I spent several hours on a couple occasions trying to get to the root of the problem, but I couldn't find anything that appeared to eb going wrong.
Also, for the 5600, I suggest having /root a symlink to /home/root, rather than the other way around... /home is barely touched by OZ on a 5600... Meaning the root gets stuffed, and the /home is empty...
I could be wrong about half these things, since it was a while ago I gave up on trying to use OZ on a 5600, personally... The wireless card I had just happened to be the one with huge numbers of issues with getting it to work (Linksys WCF12), and I really did need it working.
And to lardman... I'm not actively helping in OZ/OE because I last used it over 6 months ago, and it just didn't work out, as I said. I'm not one who can hunt down bugs in the code for programs, as I know only a very small amount of C/C++... Very small amount. Just enough to modify something if I know exactly what's going on. If OZ/OE was in more active public development (i.e. any new images being put out) I probably would have tested them (until just recently since I need a stable Zaurus for while I'm back at school). But there weren't any, so not really much I could do... I theoretically could try to build an OZ/OE image myself, but I don't have the kind of time to do that a lot. Especially not now (school).
Don't get me wrong though, the OZ/OE team is doing a great job, I just can't use it right now because I really do need my Zaurus not constantly being re-flashed.
