Title: my Z is broken

All,

Well after a couple of drops and taking it apart my Z is broken. The 'on' button does not work. It will boot into the diag menu and will run tests from there. Diag key tests show the two left most keys do not work. That means it cannot be turned on or off. Of all the keys the on/off key is the most significant.

The unit will take a new flash and it will pass the diag tests so it is not that.

Does anyone have any experience getting past this??

I have no experience but I saw somewhere that keys on the sliding cover makes contakt with Z with some sort of pins. If you open the cover fully and turn Z upside down you can see contakts for closed position. Try to look under teh cover against light to see if pins are ok. If you can't see them as a radical mesurment you can try to remove the cover, but you must be very careful not ro loose the screws.

i had the same problem untill i took apart my z's sliding cover and cleaned all of the contacts really good.
