Greetings,
I was wondering if anyone could instruct me on how to upgrade the JRE on my SL-C760 so I could run Java programs that take advantage of the javax.swing package.
Many thanks.

You could try the steps at this site:

Good Luck!

The short answer of this is that you can't.
I have a SL-5500, so I'm not positive which Java VM comes with the SL-C760, but it is either the Jeode PersonalJava implementation or Sun's J2ME CDC Personal Profile implementation. They are both lighter-weight Java implementations meant to mainly use on PDAs with AWT for interfaces.
There are some hacked versions of some earlier Swing classes that work to some extent with at least the Jeode PersonalJava VM. So you could try that depending on your needs. My understanding was that it's pretty slow.
I suspect you could build a full-blown J2SE VM for the Zaurus. It would probably require X Windows at the present, plus loads of RAM space.
