Recieved a secondhand 5600 yesterday from America. It has Opie 1.0.3, Kernel 2.4.18-rmk7-pxa3-embedix-021129, OZ 3.3.6-pre1.
However tried Syncing in in Windows XP, Linux, and OS X.
Got nowhere in XP, OS X wouldn't see it at all for some reason. Linux would see it, ping it, however I couldn't get it to find any open ports at all on the Zaurus. I made sure that as far as I could tell ssh was open, however it still couldn't find any open ports and I have noticed when I tell it to restart that it comes up with quite a lot of errors.
What is the easiest and quickest way to wipe all the information off the Zaurus, including its copy of linux and installing a fresh copy of the brand spanking new OZ? From what i've read it can be done using a CF card. I do have a couple of CF cards, ones a 16Meg one, and the other is 32Meg. Would either of these be any good? Also I do have a 1Gig SD card which is recognised fine by the Zaurus, could this be used for reflashing?

I tried to flash my SL5500 with a 512 MB CF card earlier and it didn't work for me. This was the first time I tried to flash from original Sharp SL5500 ROM to OZ 3.2.
I had to get a 128 MB CF card to get it to work.
Although my 512 MB card was recognised correctly by Sharp ROM when inserted into running Z, it could not be used for flashing.

I have a 64, a 128, and a 256. The 64 flashes flawlessly. The other two do not work. I would suggest trying the 32.
That said, you should be able to sync from Linux with Evolution and Multisync to a Z with 3.3.6pre1 and a late Opie. All the parts are in place to work. That is the only Z sync combo I know of.

I flashed my 5600 using a 1gb SD card it worked flawlessly, very impressed with the poodle's SD support thus far.
Give it a go.

In my experience with the 5600 (pxa255) and OZ 3.3.6-pre1, ssh does not start on boot. You have to start it via:
# sshd
then you should be able to ssh into your zaurus.
