hi, i\'m new 860 owner.
I\'m willing to give a try at the X11 roms.
I\'ve read that the latest release include support for the 860 though the archive slc7x0-x11rom-2029131203.zip does not contain a directory
kernel-SL-860 is this because it\'s just a simlink to kernel-SL-760 ?
Also I\'ve read in the Faq that the updater propose to do a backup, what kind of backup is it performing?
Should I expect trouble if I flash from a SD card? (that is besides the normal troubles)
(little bit off topic)
Is their a way to perform a backup of the original rom other than the nand backup (since I only have a SD card and not a CF).
Thanks in advance.

Although the C series supports flashing from the SD card these days it\'s not as stable as flashing with CompactFlash cards. You can try it but there\'s less chance of it being successful than with a CF card.
The backup basically copies the entire /home directory to the card that you\'re booting from to one file called foxbak01-backup.tgz where \"foxbak01\" is the filename you specify.

hmm, I\'ll end up buying a CF Card I think.... (though i\'ll give a try and report,
I should have look a bit harder before buying a SD)
Thanks

Foxdie have you gotten a backup to restore properly? I tried it yesterday after re-flashing and got lots of truncated file and directories missing errors on reboot. Had to reflash and re-install all packages (thankfully I had backed up all of my keyboard & fluxbox menu edits).

I haven\'t tried restoring a backup yet, sorry. I haven\'t had the need to (yet).

I\'ve install the slc7x0-x11rom-2029131203 on my 860 from a SD card without a problem.
The X11 rom is WOW!!
Thanks again

BTW, Having an SD card is not a bad idea nevertheless, because you can have other cards (wifi, bluetooth) in the CF slot at the same time.
