Hi !!
I own a c750 runing cacko 1.22b and a linux box (mandrake 10.0 official download edition withe 2.6.3-16mdk kernel). I want to connect my Z to the internet through USB but it does'nt seem to work.
* I can ping my pc and back.
ping -c 4 192.168.129.255 => avg = 0.7 ms
* ssh 192.168.129.255
ssh: connect to host 192.168.126.255 port 22 Network is unreachable
* opera remains offline
* Sharing Internet connection is activated from usb0 to ppp+ (i used drakconf)
* Drakfirewall is set up to block any intrusion from the internet (does this affect connection from local network ? I don't think so but i am not sure...)
Can someone help me please ? I'm lost :'(
UPDATE :
I though this was the command to enable usb network connection in Qtopia but it does'nt work...
* qcop QPE/Networking "up()"
SlSharedManager: can't get proc entry
thanks in advance.

You need to set up route from your Z to PC and you will also need to set up nameservers in /etc/resolve.conf - by defalut it is set to 127.0.0.1 which resolve much .
The route command is reltively simple
route add default gw 192.168.0.1
replace 192.168.0.1 with the ip of your pc so that Z now where to send requests for dns etc

192.168.126.255
I thought the number 255 was reserved when used in tha last octet (for broadcast)?
So ping will work (and may reply from the Z or the PC end of the connection), but ssh can't work.

hi again !!!
thanks guys, you were wright about ip addresses, i now use 192.168.129.200 and 201.
But the main pb commes from my firewall. I cant share my internet connection as long as it is turned on. I disable it every time i need to access the net from my z but it's a real security pb. Do you guys know what kind of services i should leave open in the gui configuation center or wich ports i should leave open ?
I really don't know anything about firewalls as until yesterday i never turned it off but i am ready to learn as much as necessary so any help / pointer is welcome.
PS : i am proud to announce that this is my first post sent from my zaurus !!! A t long last : i bought it monces ago !!! Linux world is full of learning nights...
