Title: gaim on 3.5.1?
Post by: seven5 on October 02, 2004, 12:02:22 am
Is there anyone that can confirm they have qpe-gaim running on 3.5.1? I'm new to OZ and just tried to install using the instructions on the project page (http://qpe-gaim.sourceforge.net/installing.php), and can't get it to run.

If there are any little tricks to getting gaim running on OZ that i dont know about, this would be a great place to post them

thanks

It won't work without the compat libs and I'm not even sure if it will work with 'em.

qpe-gaim is not yet in OE (hence the OZ feed) because there is still no publically available source distribution for libgaim and qpe-gaim to reconstruct the binary from scratch...

I got gaim to work with oz 3.5.1 (with the compat libs) by installing
libgaim_0.73-1_arm.ipk
qpe-gaim_0.4-1_arm.ipk
libgaim-protocol-oscar_0.73-1_arm.ipk
libglib2.0_2.2.1_arm.ipk
from the gaim feed (http://qpe-gaim.sourceforge.net/feed/release/)

AND

glibc-gconv
glibc-gconv-iso8859-1
glibc-gconv-unicode
from the oz feed (http://openzaurus.org/official/unstable/3.5.1/feed/)

Have Fun!!!

Where do you get the compat libs?

EDIT: Nevermind, I found the package on the upgrades feed.
