Title: Terminal font on GPE
Post by: panyo on October 05, 2004, 10:42:37 pm
I have found 5 point bitsteam veara sans to be a very tiney but still readable font
in the look and feel setting in GPE. However, this font does not show up in
the Terminal application. Also, I do not see how to put this application into full
screen mode like the terminal app in Opie.

What options do I have?

I have done some more work on this question. I hope someone can help me, or can
either reproduce or fail to reporduce this problem (bug?).

I can't change the font in rxvt. rxvt is rxvt-unicode_3.7-r2 from the
OZ feed.
Code: [Select]
rxvt -h  shows it has .Xresources, and encodings for jp so
presumably realy is unicode.
Code: [Select]
xst -read shows that I have Bitstream
Vera Sans-5. I have Vera fonts in /mnt/card/share/fonts/ttf. When I
try to run xset +fp to that path, I get an error that the directory
does not have fonts.dir.

Putting
Code: [Select]
rxvt*font:xft:Bitstream Vera Sans:pixelsize=5 in .Xresources
in my home directory leads to being loged out when I try to launche a
new rxvt term.

Trying to set fonts on the command line through rxvt -fn does not work
either, thougt not sure i am naming the ttf fonts correctly.
Code: [Select]
rxvt -fn mono-5
says unable to load specified font, falling back to
fixed.

If I cannot use ttf fonts, how can I change the size of my fixed font?
All I need is something smaller than the default fixed.
