Hi,
I was not able to test it yet, but is the Buzzer driver working on OZ 3.5.1, or Hentges, as it used to in OZ 3.2.
I know the sound quality is not high, but was anyway an improvement from no sounf at all!
Thanks,
Adalberto

It is not included in any OZ version with kernel 2.4.18 since it's pending someone to backport the driver from the OZ kernel 2.4.21-cl which never got completed.
-
Unfortunately I never did any kernel hacking, but would it be really difficult to move the driver between 2 2.4.x kernels?
Or simply all the efforts are towards the new 2.6 and it does not make sense to do anything on the old kernels?
Does this mean that the 2.6 is coming?
Maybe with buzzer support?

Probably not all all difficult, but no one is interested to do that. 2.4.18-embedix is bad enough that no one wants to maintain it. And on 2.6 there is only one person working, so it probably will be finished not before a couple of years.
-
I undertsand this and definetly with the 2.6 kernels out does not make a lot of sense to "waste" resources on the older 2.4.18.
It's just that I really liked that feature on a speakerless system like the 5500.

Hi,
ich backported the Patch to 2.4.18.
I put the sound-modules and an OE-kernel (64/0) at:
www.informatik.hu-berlin.de/~tkunze/zaurus
Just flash the new kernel install the sound-module and load them.

I testet it with OZ 3.3.6 but it should work with 3.5.1

Thanks a lot!
I appreciate :-)
Do you know if it would be possible to have a 56/8 image?
I tend to prefer some space on the machine.
Thanks Anyway for the support!

I added that patch into OpenEmbedded so it will be available in next OpenZaurus releases.
Thx for it.
