Title: Outlook 2003 Sync'ing / no known support
Post by: brother on October 08, 2004, 05:53:12 pm
Hello,

I got Intellisync 1.43E to partially work thanks to the great work found here

This thread (https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=7300&st=0&)

I'm running XP Pro w/sp2 and Outlook 2003 .... Sync'ing doesn't seem to work with my SL 5600 running OZ 1.5.1/OPIE 1.1.6 .

I called Sharp and according to them none of the versions of Intellisync , even the one for the SL-6000 do not work with Outlook 2003.

Has anyone gotten  to sync with Outlook 2003 on XP?

Unfortunatly, XP/Office 2003 is the standard for my work notebook... man looks like i may be hosed...

Yep, I've got XP SP2 Outlook 2003 syncing. I have an SL-5500, however. It may still work, though. Go get version 1.43E or 1.43G (same AFAIK) of Intellisync and follow the instructions in the other threads (symlink /home/root, create the linkver file, etc). Try setting Security to do Intellisync and if you can get it to respond, try setting it to Qtopie to get rid of the alerts.

The way I made it work was to create a new datafile in Outlook 2003 that uses the old 97-2002 format, and copy my calendar, tasks etc to it.  Once that was done I was able to add the folders in the intellisync options program.  I haven't tried it with email too, but I guess it's possible.

It works with my Outlook 2003 and 6000.  However i had to use a bit of trickery to get it to work.  I installed Outlook XP first, then installed intellisync.  Once it synced a few times i upgraded to 2003 and have had no problems.

When just installed 2003 alone as a full version intellisync would crash every time i tried to configure it.

hope this helps

also i am using an exchange account and no pst files
