Here are 2 resources I found for cheap SD Cards (both prices include VAT):

EBuyer (http://www.ebuyer.com) seems to be cheaper than everywhere else in general. On top of which they have a free shipping option. I just got a Kingmax 512MB MMC from EBuyer for £32.49 (delivered within a week for free) as my Viking 64MB MMC is dying (getting lots of errors). Looking at other posts, Zaurus users only seem to have good experiences with Kingmax branded cards, so I'll see how well mine works next week.
And to think, just over two years ago I paid even more than that for the 64MB MMC.
EDIT: Got it today. They despatched it when they said they would (yesterday) and the postie dropped it off today. Am very impressed. I get 1.5MB/s read AND write speeds, which is easily enough for video too.

Add digimem.biz to that list. I got a 512mb kingston SD card (in blue- grr i wanted black) with lifetime warranty and free shipping for 33.95 pounds. Most cards have free shipping and they're still coming down in price...
Bought several things from ebuyer- NOT a good experience really: takes ages to deliver (projector is now 4 days late, despite ebuyer themselves saying that they would send it next day delivery- 3 days ago). Apparently they are still finding it in their warehouse (though they say it should have been shipped). And if you need to send anything back they are appalling, and you have to pay to get it back to them. Only bought the projector from them because once it arrives any warranty will be handled by canon directly.

Just to chip in about eBuyer - I've bought stacks of stuff from them (from MP3 players and SD cards costing peanuts, to complete systems costing hundreds), and I've never had a problem (they're pretty rapid with the delivery - even in the week before christmas they were managing to turn around 3 day deliveries).

With ebuyer: mostly good experiences; never buy anything from them unless they have good stock levels.

Okay, their postage isn't cheap - its about a tenner unless they do a small package one - but if you're buying other stuff or sharing an order, it can be quite good.

ebuyer have free shipping on flash, so it can make all the difference.

I personally would always go with MMC for compatibility and on principle (don't like DRM). Pretty much any SD/MMC card should work with a Zaurus in general, but due to variations in card manufacturing and Zauruses themselves, it can be a bit hit or miss as to whether an instance of a card will work. Some brands of cards are worse than others though *cough*Sandisk*cough*.
Your best bet is to make sure the retailer has a decent returns policy for flash memory. Expansys, for example, has a 14 day no-quibble return policy for flash memory if it doesn't work in your device, although I've never had to try it out and they're much more expensive too.

I'm relatively new to the Z and gems like this really help when you don't know what you're doing.
Now all I have to do is scrape together some cash, and try to resist going mad and buying a 2GB card instead!
next on my list... wifi!
