Title: How to secure installed ROM?
Post by: bb on December 20, 2003, 11:28:09 am
I am recieving my C860 one of these days. It will come with englishized OS and europeanized power supply.

I see a lot of forum and FAQ answers describing how to install another ROM. The first thing I would like to do, however, is somehow securing the already installed ROM in the C860 when I get my hands on it, since I know that sooner or later I will feel the urge to play around with the kernel and filesystem.

Does anyone here know of a description of how to flash \"the other way\", so I will end up with a ROM image on a CF card?

How big should that CF card be, by the way?

Best regards.

I think this is what happens when you do a nand backup, but I\'m not sure myself. I just got a C750 a little while ago and don\'t really have that much to backup. I imagine your card should be at least as big as your internal storage.

Hmm, I will go look for a 256MB card. Then I should be on the very safe side.

Thank you for your answer.

Best regards.
