Title: Encrypted wallet for Xrom?
Post by: clive_2004 on October 14, 2004, 09:22:14 am
I use a program called eWallet on the pc.

It allows you to keep Credit card details, passwords and junk like that safe from the bad guys.

Is there such a thing available for use with the wonderful pdaXrom?

Hi,

You could use Portabase compiled for pdaxrom.  It has built-in encryption and password protection.

Search the zug feeds for it.

Sorry I can't help you with the pdaXrom, however if you ever switch back to one of the qt based ROMs, you may want to give SafeDee a try www.bundu.com/zaurus.html (http://www.bundu.com/zaurus.html)

Clive,
I currently use your SafeDee on Cacko ROM and actually it is one of the main reasons why I have not considered switching to pdaXrom.
Is there any chance you will port this to pdaXrom (I don't expect a free update and will be very happy to buy it again).

Hi tg,
I haven't really looked at what is involved with developing for the pdaXrom, I will investigate and get back to you.

Hello Clive,

I am working currently to integrate pwmanager from KDE into the kdepim suite.
It will include full sync capabilities. And like all the other nice apps like Ko/Pi and Ka/Pi it will be available for windows too.

Plans are to release a first version in the next couple of weeks.
And like with the other apps there will be probably a pdaXRom version provided

Thank for that Dan!

I installed it, by hand  ipkg install filename - cool

Now for the dummy question!

How do I integrate it in the X-menu system so I dont have to launch in from Aterm?

Thanks

Hi Clive,

Glad to see it works for you.

You can find details of how to add an icon to Portabase at  https://www.oesf.org/forums/inde...indpost&p=41053 (https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=5459&view=findpost&p=41053) so take a look there for further details.

Hmm, maybe someone should repackage the file with the icon files... I only have full access to the internet at weekends currently but that's also when I'm at my busiest unfortunately...
