Title: Replacing Zaurus SL-5500 Frontlight
Post by: Anonymous on December 21, 2003, 05:55:27 pm
I dropped my Zaurus...Oh no!

Now the frontlight doesn\'t work, and the display is very dim.

Is there any way to get a replacement frontlight without shelling out more than the Z cost in the first place?

I would look on ebay for a Z with a broken screen, but a working backlight.  I think the white bar in this pic it the backlight:

I would try opening the Z first to see if I could easily replace the light before I put out the money though.  There a some more internal pics on my Z site which may help:

Could be a simple loose wire that you can re-connect to the fluorescent bulb.
