Guyz,
does anyone use any pim application with x11 rom?
I tried to build some but mostly them fails.... and the ones which i was able to compile was a pure shit...
could someone recommend any decent PIM package for x11 which can be bulid for the zaurus?
-
this has been discussed several times already here... and the answer is always \"the cacko team is working on it\". From what I understand they are even working on outlook syncing...
my suggestion: be patient! they have been realing new stuff for this rom (and now a third beta version) every week. It\'s amazing how much they\'re cranking out... and it\'s all great!

Yeah... i know..
but the question is - will we be able to try it before the NY.... I really lack that functionallity.... and i really like the x11 rom...
I can even compile some PIM application but i can\'t find any suitable for Z.
So i was just asking if someone knows of any PIM package which can be built for X11 rom....
Regards,
DnK

Here (http://www.muth.org/Robert/Winzig/) is a lightweight PIM written in python with the pygtk bindings. I just glanced at the screenshots and it\'s truly \"lightweight\", but it\'s something, at least. I\"m not sure if the pygtk bindings are on the X11 ROM (waiting for my C860), but it might be worth checking into, depending on what you\'re looking for.

Thanks... but this one is too simple... btw, it works fine with x11 rom... i\'ve already tried it... for me it lacks some functionallity like simple todo dating
thanks anyway,

I use qpe-x11 PIM apps which are compatible with the OPIE one\'s, so I can continue synching with evolution via \"multisync\".
It\'s easy. Just add this line to /etc/ipkg.conf:
src qpe-x11 http://handhelds.org/feeds/qpe-x (http://handhelds.org/feeds/qpe-x)
Then:
mkdir /home/QtPalmtop-x11
mount -o remount rw /
cd /opt
ln -s /home/QtPalmtop-x11
mount -o remount ro /
And Then:
ipkg update
ipkg install task-qpe-x11
ipkg install qpe-pics-x11
ipkg install qpe-addressbook-x11
ipkg install qpe-datebook-x11
ipkg install qpe-todo-x11
...
These apps are somewhat old, but they work like a charm!!!!

lekter, genius solution, really!
i never think about native x11 qtopia, just via qvfb emulation :-)
-
tks sashz, but you are the genius.
By the way, I think the best solution is yours, to have a complete qvfb environment. This will make every app compatible not only the ones compiled for x11.
Thanks for your job!!!

opps, bad english...
Thanks for your work!!!

lekter - I don\'t know if you are still looking at this thread, but I tried this and I need a bit of help.
How do you start the programs once installed - I couldn\'t find any icons to run them and if I tried running the apps in /home/qtpalmtop-x11/bin they didn\'t do anything.
By the way, I installed using the \"settings/qpackager\" should I have done the install from the connend line? Also, I don\'t have my internet connection yet, so I installed from a cf card (is no \"ipkg update\" - could this be a problem with not installing all related packages?
Thanks for any help

I haven\'t used the X11 rom for a while so my memory is a bit fogy but I installed the apps mentioned by lekter via qpacker. The apps install several new folders and you will need to dig around to find them but they are there. When you do find them you will see as lekter mentions these are realy old style apps.
good luck
