Hi. I'm living in Japan and bought a Zaurus sl-c860 yesterday (delivered to my door for 52000yen). My first PDA! Anyway, I have a few questions:
1) I need to buy an SD or CF memory card. I don't really understand the pros and cons of these formats, but I thought I'd get an SD card as I've read the CF slot can be used for other purposes. I'm thinking I might get a 1gig card as they're not too expensive and I'm sure I can fill it with mp3s. Anyway, what kind should I get? I've read about this one:
http://panasonic.co.jp/corp/news/official....en040928-6.html (http://panasonic.co.jp/corp/news/official.data/data.dir/en040928-6/en040928-6.html)
Can the 860 use this card? And would the Zaurus run faster with this than with a cheaper SD (1gig) card? (Btw, I can buy this card for about 20000yen, the slower cards - presumably running at half the speed - cost about 10000yen).
2) I haven't decided yet whether I'm going to try to change my Zaurus to English menus or use the Japanese ones. My needs are pretty simple - j/e dictionary, kanji lookup, reading ebooks, listening to mp3s, note/memo taking, and MAYBE trying to use it to watch videos/ surf the net.
I want to learn Japanese so I'm going to try to get by with Japanese menus (I can read hiragana, katakana, some Kanji - not many). Does anyone know of a guide that would explain some of the come words (kanji combinations) encountered in a Japanese OS menu?
Thanks for any info.

Hi. I reply to a question.
If it is SD card of Panasonic, it can be used also by SL-C860.
If you want 1gig card, I also recommend you the card of A-DATA or Kingmax.
That is because the transmission speed by SD card of Zaurus does not correspond to a high-speed card.
At physical feeling speed, I think that a difference cannot be felt so much.
But it is rare to keep the way of the card of Panasonic waiting at the time of initial shock with the card of Panasonic of 512mb and the card of Kingmax of 1gig which I am using.
About 2, I am a Japanese, and since he does not understand English, either, unless it depends on a translator, I cannot answer.
