I am having some difficulties with OZ 3.5.1. At first its an amazing improvement over OZ 3.2, but I can't get my pocketop to work with it. When I try to reflash my Z with kcRom2 I still get an OZ login prompt and it refuses to boot.
I'd like to keep OZ, but I want to use my Pocketop keyboard
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks

Try re-flashing to OSPACK first and then to kcRom.

What difficulties are you having?
It'll never work unless someone who has one is willing to give some feedback to the developers who can fix/suggest ideas for getting it to work.

I, too had trouble with pocket-top. When I installed the irk ipg, OPIE would totally freeze. I would have to restart my 5500 to console, do a ipkg remove, and then it would be fine. As an experiment, I tried installing irk with compat, and then OPIE wouldn't freeze, but the irk options didn't show up in input methods.

I have tried to install OSPACK on my Z 5600, and then reflashed it with tkcRom, but regardless of that I still get the same problem of openzaurus login. Is there a way to remove that login, perhaps manually mounting the rom disk where it's at and removing it that way?

This information might help. I can get IRK to work on OZ 3.5.1 but only if I restore an old backup I have from a previous version of OZ (3.3.5). So maybe it is just a problem with a config file. If you can let me know which config file you need I will send them to you.

Don't forget to push your findings upstream, so that the OZ team has a chance to improve it in further releases.

Thanks for the findings oninitdialog. This is great news for me. Now only if somebody could provide me with the link for OZ 3.3.5, since I myself could not find any links to it to try for myself.
In any case thanks again and I'll try to find that config difference if I ever get my hands on OZ 3.3.5 rom

I have looked further into this and I have found that there is difference between plugins that are used in different versions. OZ 3.5.1 is missing some from prior versions, or that of Sharp/tKC roms where IRK works.
The plugin directories that I am talking about are:
/usr/QtPalmtop.rom/plugins/inputmethods/
/home/QtPalmtop/plugins/inputmethods/
If some one could provide some insights into this problem this would be greatly appreciated by all Pocketop usrs, including me.
