Has anyone installed ZUC?
I can run it, but the units don't convert right and I can't reach the program's author.
Does anyone have any ideas?
This sounds silly, but this little app was a factor that drew me to the Zaurus.
Thanks,
Kent!

I have ZUC installed, but haven't checked it out much.
What units are you trying to convert?
-
Well, even a simple 73 Deg F to Deg C doesn't work right.
73 = 23 but when I enter 73 Deg F, and press Go, both windows show -16.6666669!!!
Weird!
Could you try that and see what you get? Perhaps I have a bad download and could get you to send me your copy if it works.
btw: What hardware/OS are you running it on? Did you makecompat it? Which feed of oz-compat did you use?
Thanks,
Kent!

OK, I enter 73 F, and I get 22.778 C.
I am running SL-5500 with Sharp Rom 3.13.
Here is a link to where I got my copy

Hope this helps.

Well, I reflashed Sharp ROM 2.38 to see if the problem was with OZ 3.5.1 and sure enough...
When I use Sharp, ZUC works fine and so does entering numbers and calculations in Hancom Sheet. In OpenZaurus 3.5.1, all the numbers are mixed up Hancom Sheet (I enter 777 in a cell and it shows me 14) and in ZUC, it's as I explained above.
Any OZ 3.5.1-ers out there know how to fix this?
Thanks,
Kent!

as an alternative, aren't there calculator programs that also convert?

Just another reason I stick to standard Sharp Rom.. It's very stable, and everything works very well.

I made a unit converter as a way to learn how to program for the zaurus. I never got much feedback after it was initially made, and I have been away from the zaurus since then! I might be getting back into some programming this winter, I hope! Maybe I could improve it. I only tried on sharp ROM for 5500 and it was doing the calcs correctly:
You could try the results here:

Or look over the posts and help I had making it from this boards here:

JDF,
The location does not seem to be working.

The link worked now...maybe server was on the blink earlier?
Anyway, I'll give it a go.

Won't run.
This is what I get running it at the command line:
ucz: error while loading shared libraries: libuuid.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Any ideas what this is all about? I tried running it before and after makecompat and I get the same result each time.
Thanks,
Kent!
