I have hooked up my C860 onto a wireless network. Thanks to the great 'How To Description ...' written for that device in this forum, the D-Link 660-W WiFi card worked out of the box.
I can access that Zarus files on the PC via the network, My question is: How can I access the windows file system on the Zaurus? Since there is network connection I assume it must be possible to navigate the windows file system from the C860.
Thanks in anticipation,
Ashu

You need to have smbfs in the kernel (I don't remember if the stock Zaurus kernel has it). Then you can use smbmount (again, I'm unsure what the stock Z includes) with appropriate options to mount a windows share. Other roms probably include it - they are on my Z, but mine is customized.

Who has an idea if the Cacko ROM ver. 1.20 has "smbfs" in its kernel? At first try this doesn't seem to be. I have tried typing "smbmount" in the terminal window but the command is not recognised.
Is this functionality something which one can add on to the kernel? I will be grateful to hear from experts who have accessed a W2k file system from their Zaurus.
Thanks in anticipation,
Ashu

smbfs seems to bee in the stock kernel on my 860 (V1.4 Japanese Rom).
I grabbed the smbmount referred to here (http://www.killefiz.de/zaurus/showdetail.php?app=220) and I could get onto my file servers no problem.
