Anyone know when the above will be available and whether it will work with the C series?

I did a ComputerShopper (http://reviews.cnet.com/Wireless_G_CompactFlash_Card/4014-6460_7-30963956.html?tag=bc) search after seeing your post. Only five stores claim to carry the wcf54g; none of them have it in stock. So it appears that it might have been available at some point. I also checked the usual suspects (Amazon, Buy.com, Outpost, ect.); none of them carry it or have it in stock. I also checked eBay, but could not find any currently in auction or previously sold.
I think we're out of luck on this one. Perhaps Linksys decided that there wasn't enough demand and discontinued the wcf54g (and never took down its product info page).

InfoSync (http://www.infosyncworld.com/news/n/5539.html) posted a news story yesterday stating that the WCF54G is now available. Perhaps retailers will actually have them in stock soon!

Is it worth it to get an 802.11g card instead of (much cheaper) b?

I picked one up and the answer appears to be "no, it doesn't work" (stock sl-c3000, 1.01jp rom).

I'm a potential c3000 buyer and have done some research. I found a post in another forum that suggests that a driver would have to be compiled for Zaurus :

There's a link to the drivers including driver source code. Maybe someone could try this ...

Is there an update to this? Probably isn't much interest in getting 802.11g on a PDA I guess.

It would be a cool boasting feature...to have a wireless 'G' card, but I've never seen regular 'G' actually go anywhere near 54mbps. Well, ok, yeah, I've gotten my router and laptop to 'report' 54mbps, but it didn't really seem to be going that fast, and this was at ranges of under 30ft, and with a direct line of sight (ie circumstances where I could have used a cable and gotten 100 - 1000 mbps). I've seen it to be more like 22mbps top end in most indoor circumstances, ie with a wall or two in the way. True, that's twice what vanilla 'B' will get you, but as intimated by others, on a PDA/PMT it's probably not going to make too huge a difference...
Unless of course 'G' based cards are somehow inately more power efficient...anyone ???

The problem is that there are 2 linux drivers at

7.18 and 7.22
The 7.18 drivers are stable but do not support the card (atleast if my assumption is true on that the Hermes II.5 or WL60040 chip is used in this card - if someone has the card testing it will verify that!). The 7.22 drivers do support the card but crash the kernel. So what could be done is finding out what is wrong with the 7.22 ones. If someone can figure that out I think there will be a lot of happy Z'ers 802.11g + WPA is likely what many networks will become. But quite a risk buying a card that may not work at all to test drivers.
disclaimer: I don't have the card so this is all from reading web pages and comparing some files from those two drivers.

It specifically mentions Linux support. I've sent the company an email asking about the status of any linux drivers and am awaiting a reply.
Hopefully, this is a card based on a chipset that has basic support. IT seems to be relatively (compared to cards like Ambicom's WL54-CF) low-power too.
Any thoughts anyone?
