Title: Don't see X/Qt's icon on the taskbar
Post by: ShiroiKuma on November 16, 2004, 05:50:15 pm
Sometimes some things go wrong...

I have X/Qt installed and running no problem. The only thing is after it starts its icon doesn't appear on the taskbar, so if you switch to another app, the only way to switch back is using the Shift-Home Keyhelper combination (I'm using Cacko).

Have had X/Qt running normally before, so something must've gone wrong at installation or so. But have tons of apps installed, don't really wanna do a clean system install again.

Anyone know how I could fix this?

(donno specifically about xqt)
do you have the correct ../QtPalmtop/apps/Applications/<xxxx>.desktop entry? with the correct data inside?
if you did put it, have you restarted qtopia since ?
(my way to restart qtopia and see icon changes, is     settings > tab xxxxx > Ok >  Ok)

Yeah, the icon is there and I've restarted many times.

I actually see the icon on the desktop, that's no problem. Just doesn't show up in the taskbar when the app is running.

You were right.

I removed the XQt Server icon pointing to Xqt, since I start XQt from the Start X icon. So I saw no need for the X Server icon to clutter the desktop. But this was the reason.

Created the desktop entry again and X now has an icon in the taskbar.

Thank you for your help.
