Is there any way to get this (http://fpsearm.psxfanatics.com/) working on the Zaurus? It's a Playstation emulator for arm or XScale based Pocket PCs. If not, is there any other way to run Playstation games on any Zaurus model?

I didn't see any source code on the site. Without the code (which i'm sure they don't want to give out) to port to linux, I wouldn't think it will happen.
It would be like trying to run a windows desktop app on a linux desktop.
I would imagine it being painfully slow anyway; especially through emulation.
Just my $.02

Its probably better to check for a linux PSE than a windows one.
I looked a bit around, i saw one, but it were using a lots of X11 libs, maybe if 1 use SDL thats would be easy to get 1 but anyway I wonder what speed we can get with that !
interesting project.

There was an old post about someone starting a port of a Playstation emulator for Zaurus. I'll have to look around...
Here it is:
https://www.oesf.org/forums/inde...se,and,emulator (https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=4321&hl=pse,and,emulator)
Looks like it needs to be completed. Hmm...

I was more interested in any emulator in particular, and just used that one as an example. Thanks for the link, stupkid.

Was there ever any code floating about?
Or some source?

fpsece seem to be based on FPSE (http://download.consolemul.com/Emulateurs/Playstation/fpse.tar.gz) which sources are available for linux (x86 optimised however) ... I tryed to contact the guy who's making fpsece as he's actually "porting his last sources on a gnu c compiler" to know if his arm optimised version could be recompiled on a linux platform now he made these changes ... still awaiting for an answer ... I'm gonna try compile the linux version btw but not sure it's going to work and I won't be able to optimise it for arm nor to go farther than executing a configure script and the make command as I don't even now C langage

I emailed d13f00l. who said he had a "working" PSX emulator for his zaurus not optimized (11-15 fps). I might get an answer, who know.
-
Many thanks, if a Playstation emulator could be run on the Zaurus, methinks we'd attract more people to it. EDIT: On a second note, can d13f00l release the source for his emulator?

I've been able to makes some mods to fpse so it's about to compile but I still get errors with the gpu emulator complaining about not finding SDL during the configure script (using onboard dev image on pdaxrom 1.1.0 RC5) .... compiling the emulator itself then produce a lot of errors such as "cc1: error: unrecognized option '-fmakedep'" then , compiling the libgpu part outputs a lot of undefined references to Xlib functions ... seems to be as far as I can get with my knowledge ... btw I think it's close from working but we need someone who can hack around the x11 and/or SDL parts of the gpu emulation ...

I got a reply from d13f00l:
"I was working on PCSX. It's basically useless. I cut
out the GTK code, and I had it compiling, but thats
about it. It was too slow to be usable. LDChen and
his partner are actually working on FPSE for the
zaurus. So far, they have it compiling with GCC. It
will only be a matter of time. I think I have the
PCSX sources lying around, but really, it's useless
unless you know ARM asm and can code a dyanamic
recompiler."
So, that at least is encouraging. I'll have to find a way to contact LDChen and find out what is up.

Out of curiousity, what roms is that project being developed for? The Sharp-based roms or pdaxrom? EDIT: Could you kindly make a recommendation to LDChen, namely that if support for the higher-end Playstation games is not possible, that he include support for lower-end Playstation games? (In terms of graphics) Examples would include Silverload, Final Fantasy Tactics, etc.

I have posted everything that I know about this project. My guess is that it is for Sharp ROMs or OE. I would doubt that it was for pdaxrom.
