Pardon the newbie question, but how do I choose the right zImage for the OZ ROM? I have an SL-5500, so I understand that I can pick from one of the 64 Mb ones, and I see how they're split, but on what basis do I make the decision as to which works best for me? Is the split a storage vs. RAM thing? Thanks!

Yes, that's exactly the decision If yo don't know what to do, I suggest using 40-24 if you're gonna install many programms, or 48-18 if you don't really need many progs. In both cases, you could probably optimize your usage, but to find that out you'd have to use it a bit to know what you want...
Uhh, yeah, to clarify: the memory of 64 MB is split for RAM and storage. Storage can mainly be used for programms, but other stuff as well. You probably know what RAM is... (I guess that's what you meant in the first place, just wanted to make sure).... Hope that helps!
Cheers

Yeah, I know what RAM is...
I figured that was what the split was, I just hadn't seen it spelled out anywhere. I've used it enough to know what I'll need. Thanks for the confirmation.

If you have an SD card (or a dedicated CF card) to install stuff to (you will have to format the card as ext2) then just go for 64-0.

64-0 saves you from hard reset headaches too.

Otoh, if you put stuff on the SD, you have to leave it in there.... I have all my programms and data in the storage area of my 40-24 image, and that's just fine, I've never lost any data or stuff due to reset or whatever... I even left it with empty battery for half a day, no problem here...

With respect to the 64-0 image. Will it automatically move everything to the SD card or does this have to be done manually?

Everything what? If you have stuff installed on your Z at the mo, you'll have to re-install it. The base system lives in the (writable) flashROM though if that's what you mean?
