Hey all,
Does anyone use one of those iGo power adapters (http://www.igo.com/default.asp) with their Z? I'm trying to find out what tip (if any) would work with my 5600 (and ideally with my 5500). I just purchased one so I have one thing to carry for all my equipment (laptop, phone, iPod, etc) and the Z is the only thing left.
Thanks ahead of time...

I believe the Zaurus uses the same power tip as an iPaq.
Anyone want to correct this before some guy fries his Z?
You'd probably want to look into which one though, they might not all be the same.

I have an SL-6000, and just bought adaptor B03. I've not plugged it in under power yet. It's a form fit. I'm trying to research iGo to see if it's possible to limit the voltage. So far, I suspect I can get a maximum of 9.3V. I'd be happier if I could get a max of 6V.
Came here to see if the question had been brought up yet. I'll continue to research, and will probably try the tip at some point.

B03 works. 6.3V at 1.7Amp maximum. The Z draws about 1.1A.

Be very careful that the tip does not put out over 5.2v when unloaded (Nothing plugged in)
You should test any alternative powersupply with a multimeter before plugging it into the Z. Anything over ~5.3v and up will fry the charging circuitry. (I don't know about the 6000, but I really don't think Sharp fixed it only for that model...
The center should be positive, the outside negative.

Use connector B05. That one works just as well, lower Vout.
I called iGo to ask about an adaptor for some electronic boards I use at work. They will never be on a list of iGo, but do have a common plug, and a wide range of input voltage. iGo was very unhelpful. Their stance - They list compatible devices, and not voltage/current ranges. This 'prevents' consumers from blowing up their end devices and relieves them from liability. I tried to explain to them that their stance -will- cause me to blow up equipment as I use trial and error to find a good adaptor for my small volume devices (Zaurus, custom PC boards, etc). All I needed from them was a list of adaptors with mechanical dimensions and Vout. They simply wished me luck and ended the conversation.

I was thinking of getting one of these adapters for a variety of devices including my c1000. I was thinking of using the tip B07 for the PSP, but I can't find any voltage information for that tip. Anyone know where I can get the voltage info for the tips? or does anyone have any positive experience with the iGo charger or some other universal charger?
Thanks!
Chris.

Ok, so santa did bring me a new iGo 3500 chrager for my gadgets and I charged my fully spent c1000 relatively quickly. The battery did warm a bit, but not more than the wireless card does when I've been surfing for a while. I got the PSP iTip (#B07) and it seems to work well. I'll let you know if I ever run into any trouble.
Happy holidays!

I've been using the B07 tip for a while with the C1000 and have had no problems.

If it will charge an iPaq or PSP it will charge a 6000, I interchange the adapters all the time.
