Didnt work for me, too. Grab wirekismet; works perfectly and has more functions.

Is wirekismet a ipk installer, if yes, where would I get one for the Zaurus?  If no, where would I find instructions to install it?

Download http://austin2600.org/wirekismet/wirekisme...t_1.0.3_arm.ipk (http://austin2600.org/wirekismet/wirekismet_1.0.3_arm.ipk) - it will NOT work with the automatic installer!
Use ar to extract the package, will will give you data.tar.gz. Extract the binary file from data.tar.gz to some /usr/bin or whereever you want to have it. You only need the one file called \"wirekismet\".

Glad to see Im not the only one that couldnt get the kismet gui to work....thanks for the tip on wirekismet but I still couldnt get the manual install to work either.  I didnt know which one was the binary file so I just stuck the whole folder and tried to run it that way, didnt work.  Which one is the binary file I need, thanks.

I\'ve re-packaged the .ipk so that you can install it via the gui package manager, or via ipkg install.  It installs fine, but it gave a warning about not having kismet-server installed.

So I downloaded kismet-server-2.4.6_arm.ipk from http://austin2600.org/wirekismet/ (http://austin2600.org/wirekismet/), and installed it (didn\'t need to re-package this ipk...).  This installed fine, but it did warn about a few dependencies (libc6, glibc2.2).

I would suggest installing kismet-server first... but you don\'t necessarily have to.

I\'ve added the ipks (wirekismet and kismet-server) to the ZUG x11 feed (http://www.zaurususergroup.com/x11feed), just so others can test and report their findings.

I was able to launch the wirekismet app, but I don\'t think I got it to work correctly (sniff my home network, etc).

I definitly would NOT go for kismet-server-2.4.6, because its too old! Use kismet-server 2.8.1-libpcap from www.kismetwireless.net or killefiz.de. If you go and install wirekismet by hand, you *only* need the binary file from /usr/bin/wirekismet which is in data.tar.gz; put in in /usr/bin on your Z.

offroadgeek: Maybe if your problem the same problem I have; but since you use that old kismet-server version I dont know for sure. Make sure you have a \"real\" network setting via the apps folder, go to a terminal, make ifconfig eth0 10.0.0.1 up, start kismet_monitor, kismet_server, and then wirekismet. Wirekismet and kismet-server-2.8.1 work *pefectly* here on my Z, so we\'ll figure where your problem is.
